Yes, just like the last CEO thought that the 'simpler and fairer' program changes were also going to be well received with all the 'enhancements' they made to the program...

If there are changes I can't see the fundamentals changing.
I can see more point redemption options though, probably at a higher cost.
This wouldn't mean that classic rewards would be going.
Who knows, QF may bring out a bag only fare to compete with VA. No idea, just basing the assumptions on what some other airlines have done.

Announcing the appointment, Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson said: “Andrew has a deep understanding of the Loyalty business having been part of that leadership team for many years, as well as the organisation more broadly given he’s also worked in several other parts of the Group.

“Over the past few years, Andrew has done an outstanding job in leading the growth of points-earning opportunities for members, particularly through financial services, which has strengthened the program overall. In the process, he’s developed a very strong understanding of what drives success for Loyalty, both for our customers and commercial partners.

“Ultimately, what members of our Frequent Flyer program want is the ability to earn points in lots of different ways and convert them into great travel experiences. That’s what the strategy for Loyalty is focused on delivering, including the recent expansion into hotels and holiday packages as well as adding more partner airlines.

“Qantas Frequent Flyers have access to up to 5 million reward seats and late last year we invested heavily in making more available during the European summer. We’re working on some more improvements that we expect to announce in coming months, which we think will be very well received by our millions of members,” said Ms Hudson.

Andrew Glance said: “Qantas Loyalty is a fantastic business that delivers a lot of value to its members and corporate partners, and I look forward to leading the team to build on that.”

Mr Glance’s appointment follows the resignation of current Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth in October 2023. He will transition to his new role, including becoming part of the Qantas Group Leadership Team, once Ms Wirth leaves at the end of February 2024.

I actually see it as a huge limitation of QF that there's nothing between a Classic Reward and an Any Seat Award. So (for eg, SYD-LAX J), it jumps from 108K to ~1,800K.

Other airlines that have the "dreaded dynamic pricing" still have things like "Saver Awards" that are essentially the same as QF Classic Rewards, but they still offer gradual step up award seats at around 25% increases per jump; not the 1,000% QF does.
 
This announcement certainly Drew a Glance from yours truly. Then again, with the announcement by Dick Goyder of Olivia becoming the CEO of Qantas, one could argue that his appointment was certainly Wirth it!

Generally agree although the only benefit they removed that I liked they did it last year not 13 years ago. I wrote and got the standard sorry to hear we didn't meet your expectations, see you next time!

I think that's Chief Customer Officer, currently held by Catriona Larritt.

Yeah you remember the post. That's the only thing I've ever whined about to QF as was sometimes a good thankyou to the person dropping me at the airport to fly QF allowing them to come in for a cold beverage.

My tip is more points earning opportunities (yawn), and more integration into travel packages.
