Hence the reason we deployed SMS One time password at WBC.

Most people have mobile phones. The mobile phone (sms) can be used as the second factor of authentication for risky or transactions over a certain amount. Yes it is susceptible to man in the middle attacks - but the likelihood is low.

The SMS thing wouldn’t work for me much as I never roam when I go overseas, so if I needed to do internet banking the code would never get to me. I like my clicky-thing :)

Not to drag this too far OT, but recently when my mum was in Australia and we were buying things with her CC I found the web browser would redirect to the HK HSBC website and ask for her ID card number and other details, and after the Tx went through they’d also phone to check it was all OK.

Interesting the different securities employed by companies and countries.

The Qantas app looks nice, but why oh why could they not benchmark their app against the Cathay Pacific CX Mobile app.
That is a fantastic app IMHO. Loads & runs quickly, can check in, check flight times, access the Marco Polo account easily and also provides a nice little city guide for common destinations. Obviously it can be done then.

For bookings, Tripit seems provides a better app than Qantas. And it is heaps quicker as well!

Maybe while they work on the new update of the QFF software system, they can develop a better interface with that as well. Oh well, I can dream...
