New Pullman Brisbane Airport

I was there a few weeks ago, thought it would be a nice place to stay before flying back to Perth after a holiday in the Whitsundays. I was actually quite pleased with it, apart from a few things.

It was the first time i'd used my Accor Plus benefits which I believe means you get a welcome drink? We received nothing for the 3 rooms that I had booked, we were all arriving at different time though. I didn't remember about this until after checkout and on the plane home.

We also had dinner in the restaurant with Luca looking after us, even though his chat was fun he was quite forgetful so much so that we were left without drinks for a long time after ordering them, the worst one was when I didn't want bubbles to start with like the rest of the group and ordered a bottle of red wine that we had to remind him about it after waiting for a long time.

There is a pool there, I doubt many people will use it if it is the same as when we were there, it doesn't seem to be heated in any way, there were many families coming down to use it, only one family had the boys go in as it was so cold, the girl stayed out, the rest either sat on the chairs for a bit then left or turned around disappointed straight away and back up to the room.

Would I stay again, prob not, i'd rather stay somewhere else and use the difference in cost somewhere else.

Agree and will do. This is my first time at the Pullman. Travelling with Mrs eric2011 this time hence the need for a room with a king size bed (we are both reasonably large people). Normally I stay next door at the Ibis because I am usually in and out of BNE by myself so the queen bed is sufficient for me. (What is it with these 3-4 star "affordable" hotels these days with only having a queen bed.) aargh:mad:
How was your stay @eric2011 ?

Sorry for the delay, I only got back on Monday. The stay was very good, was upgraded from basic room to Exec room. Evening drinks were given downstairs at the bar beside reception. 6.00pm in the evening there was myself, mrs eric2011 and 1 other person. No one going into the restaurant so as you can imagine, the place was very quite. We didn't get the tasting platter but the other person had it and it looked exactly like the photos as earlier in the thread. Was going to eat in the restaurant however I found the prices excessive so went to the Ibis next door. They also charge to your room at the Pulman.

Would I go back: Yes if I was travelling with my +1........No if i'm traveling by myself, I would be at the Ibis

Thanks mate. Didn't mean to hassle!

Since I last stayed here they have started using the lounge for evening drinks and canapés instead of the bar. Service is from 5 - 7 pm. I think in the bar it commenced at 6pm. Very quiet in the lounge this evening, just myself and one couple who didn’t stay long. Chatting to the staff member there she said that it was usually busy, but that most guests hadn’t checked in and were probably delayed due to all of today’s flight delays.
Offerings were underwhelming. A plate of cheese, a plate of cold meat (pastrami, salami and ham) and beef and chicken party pies. Wine wasn’t good either. I preferred the offering in the bar. I was often able to get a G&T at the bar.

Thanks for the info and update. Wines from the bar were definitely a plus point.
If you are able to advise on breakfast options that would be great.
Half contemplated a stay here next month for convenience, but your post has confirmed my instinct that it's best not to bother as I'll only be even more disappointed.

Breakfast was unchanged from recent stays. Buffet in the Apron restaurant with the option of eggs cooked to order and barista coffee at an extra charge.
