I assumed the hotels in the title were examples, not the entire list!

NB, I'd rate HI on Avon as the worst Priority Club place that we've stayed at. We stayed there after the Queenstown Do. In Christchurch, Crowne Plaza > HI City Centre > HI Avon. Not bad for 5,000 points, but it's not indicative of most Priority Club places.

NB, There are some nice Intercontinentals on this list, eg IC Stockholm, Hanoi and Chicago O'Hare.

Cool; just need it to bunk down between my 5pm arrival and 7am departure on a NZD34

"Seat" fare to SYD.

Yep, and not even bookable at the PB rate on the normal website, not surprised, its a nice hotel for 5K, very impressed as I post this from my CP Adelaide room.

might be in adelaide for a night in September and there is some conference on, so the IC is booked out of standard rooms (availability starting at $320!), so I might have a look at the CP

Glad I booked a couple of nights for the end of August, when they were available for 5,000/night two weeks ago. :)

Just watch the hot water at night, the shower went from cold to hot to cold which was very annoying, at 4AM this morning no issues! Thats the only fault I could find, apart from getting a paper when I said no, which is the reverse to what usually happens at other hotels with me!

CP Christchurch

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone who had been to the CP Christchurch knows whether there are any privileges for Award bookings. I'm a Platinum Ambassador and Im weighing up whether to take a Point Breaks or just pay for a Club Room.

Is it usual for this hotel to give upgrades for paid bookings / award bookings?

Many thanks
Larni

I've stayed four times over the past couple of years as Platinum. Only upgraded to club room once, and the booking was the room category below club. But I don't think there is a consistent application - if you want/need a club room, it is probably worth booking one.

The club room is nothing special at this hotel though - if it was me I would book on points break and use the money saved to enjoy a few drinks at the hotel's normal bar but that's just me.

Many thanks Andy, this is exactly the information I was looking for. I agree the Point Breaks is the way to go. My only hesitation is that it says that a standard room cannot confirm whether smoking or not until check in. I definitely need a non smoking room so I am going to take my chances.

Thanks so much again
