Just had a look at the link- you can only do it once but I suppose you can go once per card. And yes, it is tax deductible!

If you are on the top marginal tax rate, you will get 46.5% back.

Therefore, net cost is 0.535 x $150.00 = $80.25 for 5225 points on a platinum charge card (I assume you still get 1.5 pts/$).

That is 1.54c/pt and a donation to a good cause.
