New partnership assistance required from AFF

What if you are in Sydney already? Do you get a free trip somewhere cool and then return. Say, you know, New York...

Thanks for the offer. A trip to SYD sounds good, a free lunch even better, meeting some of the DJ insiders would be great and learning about the new partnership with .... Telstra (my guess ) ... would also be interesting.

I think it would be good to whoever gets to go to get permission to do a short report back to us all. That way, we can all share in the reflected glory.

I have been thinking about this a little more.

They want some sort of communication from people who fly semi often or more or who are at least familiar with the concept of ffp's.

There was some sort of suggestion about a 5 letter word, which could be Coles or Tiger or something else or nothing at all.

I have been thinking about it and a couple of people have hinted towards it but I think it could be something related to some general feedback about new materials or suggestions related to the Velocity overhaul and the fact that from 1 Jan 2012, all the airlines become VA. Maybe they will show cards, advertising material, etc etc. and sort of get an initial external vibe. So that or something like that.

The key word is "partnership." So unless they're playing games with the wording it's either:

An airline -- which leads me to believe it's likely one we know about but where the details aren't out as JB said there are no new major partnerships in the works.

OR

Not an airline but a very big partner eg. something like Coles/ FlyBuys

OR

[And, yes, i am crazy speculating here] a new non airline partner that might be involved in something else they are yet to announce. Like, maybe, IFE. For example I Note that both Apple and Row 44 have 5 letters each. Site offers flight entertainment - Entertainment News, Music News, Media - Variety.

Call me cynical, many do, but this offer seems like an excellent way for DJ to find out who is really posting stuff on AFF under the many and varied user names, and cross-check to DJ's records.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Personally I have 0 Velocity points, 0 Velocity credits, will be in Sydney on 14 June and have a healthy appetite.
