Fly Pelican will start direct flights from Newcastle to Adelaide from March, with flights 3x weekly and fares starting at $249 one-way. Apparently the flights will be operated by Alliance Airlines, not sure exactly how that works.

ADELAIDE is officially the latest destination for flights from Newcastle.

FlyPelican will begin direct services to the South Australian capital on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in partnership with Alliance Airlines.

The Williamtown-based firm may also add more services on Flying Fokker aircraft, which seat 80 or 100 passengers, if the demand exists.

Perhaps testing the waters for expansion of their own fleet, hence the use of QQ. Probably helps QQ rotate their fleet around too at lower cost if needed.

Handy route for travel between the Hunter Valley and SA wine districts.

Disappointing, but given the fairly Price sensitive nature of the market it’s not surprising, the route is getting the chop in April 2019 by Fly Pelican.

Needless to say NTL are hoping for a white knight to keep the route going post April 2019.
