At least you got something... My boring old plastic SG card expires on Sunday and still no word of a new one (requalified in early Sep).

Called today and just got a "umm you should have it by the end of October, they usually get there"

Just found them in the mailbox too:

No sign of mine (having rushed home early!;)), an my expiry date is Oct 31st:(

Thanks for the photos!

I wonder, is it possible to show how sturdy the tag can be attached to a bag, as I just wonder how easy it might be to remove, or lose?

Can I post photos from the mobile app? Off to the airport, will use my new card even though I know it's in the system. :)

Yes. When replying there is an attachment button for an image or map in the top right.

Has anyone other than WP status go them today?

Can't really demonstrate it in a photo, but the tags have some decent quality elastic bands attached (think of a thick drawstring on backpack or the like).

I imagine while you could find a way to remove it if so inclined with sufficient time and equipment, it would be quite tough to cut off deliberately, let alone slip off accidentally - certainly not the weak plastic on the old tags.

[Edit] Okay, you twisted my arm:

Have a great photo of the tag on the bag if I can PM then email it to someone (restricted by the SYD FCL and IPad)

Has anyone in Melbourne who was part of the 'trial' Q Chipped cards got theirs? I am wondering if I should rush to my PO box before the PO Closes (As i'm assuming it won't fit in the PO Box itself) to collect it prior to heading out to the airport (otherwise, i'll try my trial Q chip one on Tuesday at PER).

SG, in Melbourne, part of the trial, and current card expires 31 Oct. No sign of anything.

Right. I'll wait till next week for my WP CD's.

Now though, i'm off to consume some Asian-laced Party Pies at the MEL J Lounge... Sorry, that's Neil Perry not Asian-laced;)

That would mean just as easily ripped off as well unfortunately :(

I guess it depends how powerful the RFID chips are in them. Although it wouldn’t be as noticeable, perhaps the tag could go in a zippered outer pocket and be read that way?
