Well... no more than usual. Because the promo doesn't apply to SYD-LAX J, only Y or W


You need 4 return Premium Economy fares SYD-LAX to get from nothing to new-qualified-Platinum. Or, 8 return (Discount) Economy fares.

You need 3 J returns SYD-HKG. It comes to about 2.5 returns if you peg on a tag flight (not SC-doubled) for peanuts on each inbound and outbound.

Outlay - still about $18k if all in cash. For ASAs... depends on what you value your points at.

May be a generic confirmation page but the link in the email is quite complex with two fields _ri_ and _ei_ both which appear to be randomly generated 40+ character sequences, and no doubt link back to a specific FF number.

i got it too, also my first ever. bronze only (silver next week). wanting to go to singapore for easter so may yet utilize it, but assuming only the outbound flight would gain the points (if returning after 30th march)
