So QF are are replacing domestic J with PE and DJ are planning on going in the other direction.

Battle of the A330's, who has got a rogue aircraft now, looking forward to the threads about paying for J and getting PE:shock:

Have to wait and see what the DJ config looks like - they may do a similar thing.

I was more thinking about all those who bag DJ for only having domestic PE and not J. Perhaps they can afford to maintain their current offering if QF is lowering standards?

I seriously think QF have stuffed up with this one.

Pax complain when they get a middle seat in J with SkyBeds so how the hell do they think they will get away with this using PE seating.

I will now change flights at T-24 if I see this seating layout as I would rather fly 738's than seat 7 across on a A332.

Maybe they're about to reintroduce 3 class domestic service?

They have certainly done it in the past...

The fact they have been so quiet, publicity-wise, about these new seats, certainly has me guessing. They are either embarrassed by them, or maybe something else is coming?

I suspect there might be a differentiated fleet for east coast A330s versus cross-country.
Less of an issue with that seat on SYD-MEL.

I doubt QF is planning to use A332's on East coast much, they are much better suited to the trancons.

Loading and unloading takes too long for the quick turnarounds required.

I think its reasonable to assume there will not be any middle seats in the DJ domestic business class cabin (if and when its introduced).

Have we worked out if the EK aircraft they are using will be totally refitted, or just minor changes?

What's the current layout on EK A330s?

2/3/2 according to seat expert for their 2 class A330s.

It seems like part of the issue is despite cramming in the extra seat in the middle block, the pitch remains the same. It may have been prudent to improve the pitch so the middle pax doesnt feel so hemmed in.

I thought it was discussed that the birds would not be coming from EK

I'd be very annoyed if this is the way QANTAS is heading. I pay extra for the room rather than the service! I don't care if it's a 1 hour flight or 3 hour flight... I want the space!!

Surely this would only be on Trans-Con ATM due to the A380's being out of service?

I think you'll find the A330's will be used primarily on the trans-con flights, with some other work around the MEL-SYD-BNE triangle.
