New Amex statement credits

Some weird behaviour I saw today, I got an amazon prime credit (?)

I rented a movie on there for $5 in late December and got a statement credit today; I looked into it and it said under the additional info "Amazon Prime Benefit". I guess it counts the remainder of the $84 that I didn't use ($79 towards prime membership) to the rental. Nice enough of them, its appreciated.

I received two Amazon Prime credits overnight: one for $2.99 (which is what I pay monthly for ad-free Prime Video, but I’ve never received a credit for it before), and one for $2.01.

Not complaining about the unexpected $5 — it must be the $5 up to the $84 as you suggest.

I do. Just appalled that paytv has ads. Can’t stand ads interrupting programs which is also why I pay for Kayo for cricket and F1. I would rather cut my wrists than watch channel 7 cricket with more ads than cricket coverage. I’m even prepared to suffer Kerry O'Keeffe to avoid ads, although I wonder sometimes.
