I havent gotten the offer either on my platinum card. Too bad I missed out on the first one start of this year as well.

yes but only paid 71 on that card and it says 30 not 15
i did buy bunnings for 150 though So that could be it
thankyou

Which card did you get and how long ago?
Multiple cards... AmEx Plat Charge (personal) with the Plat Res Credit card, DJs Plat Amex ... all since 2015 (earlier in the UK)
Perhaps I’m being a bit greedy... I did get the $400 credit back in June? and made use of the double points period, and got a bonus when i renewed the Plat card in Aug...
so I guess I should be content.
but then again, AmEx isn’t a charity organisation.... I’m sure they’re making good money from my spending.

Agree $60 is quite a big hurdle to meet but Starcash card might be a good option to top up spend for later use :)

Curious, by the timing of some of the posts it would appear that the Caltex/Ampol offer was limited to a certain number of each type of Amex card - not an overall total.

With a Velocity, I got the email at 8.11am, clicked to activate the offer at 8.19am and got 'Offer now already reached limit'.

Amex Reserve cc. Similar here, as I missed out at about 9.15am. Seemed very odd. Mental note to avoid Caltex/Ampol in future. 🤣

Yes, I activated mine at 7am.....well before Amex emails. Good deals like this one, max out quickly.

To be fair to customers in WA, they really shoudln't activate offers like this in the middle of the night. I've missed out on several of the more popular offers even if I check first thing in the morning.

I do wonder whether offers like this do more harm than good for the particular company. If they are only going to offer a small number relative to the total number of card holders & Amex knows how well these offers do etc - then surely whilst not so good for the lucky few, they'd be better off limiting which card types they offer it to?

In my case, trying to activate the offer within minutes of the email arriving, the unsuccessful offer does not make me feel like buying petrol from Caltex/Ampol in a hurry!
