New Amex statement credits

I must look down and out. When I used Amex card #4 to put another $15 worth of petrol in the Corolla at 7-11, another motorist saw that I was only putting $15 worth in, and offered me another $5. :D

I think that Amex are trialing a new service whereby you immediately receive your credit back in cash from a human!

I've just used DJ online to buy DJ giftcard. The email arrived instantly :eek:

The only downside is the $5 delivery grrrrr.

If you add something else to your gift card purchase then you don't pay the delivery fee. DJs have little bowls for a $1 each. Try adding one to your order next time and you won't pay the delivery fee and you get to keep the bowl!

Hm, this is a bit weird. Looking for a heater, normally $149, but thought Id look at DJ's to get me close to that $200 spend since it can be obtained in multiple spends, and discovered they had 15% off. Bonus. So made the purchase at $127.45 and was surprised to get the email "Your $40 statement credit for spending $200 at David Jones Online will be issued to your registered Card account.". Double bonus!

Not complaining though! Oh and I went through cashrewards too, another 7% off.

Please report back if the credit posts - software must be absolutely cough if it does!

My Business Accelerator was given the Liquorland, 7-11 and Macca's offers (as well as the Bose and VA Holidays) yesterday. They had been available for my Edge only a few weeks ago

be careful buying virgin holiday that include a flight as you don't get the flight credit as far as I know
I purchased same last year and was mortified to see that i got no points or status credits.

see below
9.7.3 Unless otherwise specified, Points are not earned for the following:
(a) for tickets which are unused (in whole or part) or refunded (in whole or part). If a Member does not travel on all Flight Sectors of an Itinerary, they will not earn Points in respect of the unused Flight Sectors;
(b) for others flying with the Member (even if the Member has paid for their ticket);
(c) travel on Charter Flights (unless otherwise specified at time of booking);
(d) flights purchased as part of a packaged holiday (such as through Virgin Australia Holidays);

does the bonus still appear as a -$xx on the app? i used the 7-11 for fuel, got the email but the credit hasn't shown up... have not had time to get around to calling to chase it up. And i honestly cant remember how much i spent so if the amount showing is -$5 or not

EDIT: never mind just checked then, its posted there now albeit 3 days later

Hi all! First post :)
Based on the advice I got on these forums, I decided to get the Platinum Edge as my first CC and I'm loving it so far.
Spotted this one when checking my first statement - seems to be an offer for $50 statement credit for a $500 spend, which isn't too bad if you are looking for am Apple Watch at the moment. Can't post links as I haven't posted 10 times sorry

Welcome to AFF. The statement credits have had a bit of a new lease of life in the last month or so-there may be a few quieter times ahead but good to make hay while the sun shines.

I was looking at the cheapest way to use the $50 Virgin Holidays credit and earn some SCs. Glad I read your post. Not going to happen Virgin....

I will certainly give the Woollies offer a workout across our 3 Amex cards. Two other offers are also available;

Cracka Wines - spend $99, get $20 credit.

Road Runner Tyres - spend $300, get $50 credit.

Thanks
