Came across this on the American Airlines website and thought it might be of interest to some. AA and BA are launching a range of new non-stop trans-Atlantic services ahead of the northern summer this year:

PHL-BUD (seasonal)
PHL-PRG (seasonal)
ORD-VCE
DFW-KEF
BNA-LHR (BA service)

DFW-KEF is an interesting one for me as I'm not aware of any current oneworld services between Iceland and North America. KEF might make an interesting oneworld award stopover.

Ha ha. I Wonder what continent KEF will be credited to in OneWorld explorer itineraries, given it stakes the mid Atlantic ridge.

On further thought you can already fly there on BA, as I have done a couple of times in the past.

Indeed you can, but you then have to backtrack back to Europe on either BA, AY or IB.

Edit: Interestingly I see that S7 are also launching non-stop DME-KEF flights.

I Noticed the new DFW > KEF AA service a few weeks ago when playing around with the OW route Map.
Indeed, at present this is the only OW method of travelling to KEF from North America without diverting via Europe first.

Makes for a great option for those chasing some more OW RTW options.

The Aircraft utilised for this route is a B767.

Interesting possibility of SYD-KEF (via DFW) as a one stop trip to Iceland for 60,000pts and $269 (in Y)

Good thinking!

Would likely be quicker than diverting via HEL or LHR.
