New *A lounge at Concurse D in Dubai...

Anybody had a chance to tryout the new Lufthansa *A lounges at Dubai.

Im flying out of there later this month in J on SQ, plus im a *G, and was wondering what both the Biz and Senator lounge is like. Im sure there isnt that much difference. Would be nice if there was.

As far as I'm aware, Senator lounges are supposed to be superior to J lounges

Normally yes,,, but I heard a rumour that it was just a walled off area. Guess I will find out in a few weeks...

Yeah. Thats what makes it so sad.

Its new. Less than 4 weeks old. Very sterile and lufthansa like. Funny that. I was the only soul on the senator side. Which is no different to the J side. They share a toilet outside of the front desk which is pathetic.

Hot food was limited to mashed potatos and beef caserole which in the 4 hours i was there was never rotated despite being nearly empty. Thank god there was no cutlery or i may have been tempted. This was at dinner time. There were some sandwiches which were old and stale. Some basic dry goods. J side no better and no different.

Seating is wierd. No power points at standard tables. Only at lounge chairs which are badly designed and at this tiny cubbyhole standing workstation. Disappointing.

I managed to get into the Qatar skyteam lounge for a tour.... was much nicer. There was a oneworld but they wouldnt even tour me.

I ended up having a feed at a nice restaurant upstairs near all the lounges.

Would rather the old DCA lounge in concourse C!

I assume the DCA first class lounge is still available. It's very nice, but my second choice to the EK lounge in concourse C (the only EK lounge at DXB where you can help yourself to Moet...).

i did ask about the DCA lounge,,, and i got a NO. They stamped my boarding pass with 'LH Lounge'.

It would also take you about 20 minutes to traverse the train and underground tunnel to concourse C from D.

Sucks, much nicer terminal in D,,, and the lounge is new, mabye it will improve.
