Special referral offer. Note that weirdly there is no date shown on this offer so may get pulled at any time!. And don't forget if doing before the end of the month to take advantage of this offer from Velocity first.

My referral link is http://amex.com.au/refer/sTEPHBLHAq?CPID=100477784 (note I get a referral bonus too). Note you must go via my referral link for the bonus 20K points, the standard with Amex direct (and the above Velocity link) is only 100K points. I will receive a bonus for referral also.

You will receive 120,000 Velocity Points when you apply online for the American Express Velocity Platinum Card, are approved, and spend $3,500 on your new Card within the first 3 months. Offer available to new Card Members only. This is a personalised offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time.
  • 2.25 VELOCITY POINTS on eligible purchases with Virgin Australia per $1 spent
  • 0.5 VELOCITY POINTS on purchases at government bodies in Australia per $1 spent
  • 1.25 VELOCITY POINTS on Card purchases, except spend at government bodies in Australia per $1 spent

    Highlights

    • Receive 100 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits, when you spend a minimum of $50,000 within your Card membership year
    • Earn 1.25 Velocity Points per $1 spent, except government bodies in Australia where you will earn 0.5 Velocity Points per $1 spent
    • Earn 1 additional Velocity Point per $1 spent on purchases with Virgin Australia
    • Complimentary Virgin Australia return domestic flight after your first Card spend each year
    • Enjoy 2 complimentary Virgin Australia lounge invitations each anniversary year at selected airports
    • Enjoy two complimentary entries per year to the American Express Lounge, located at Sydney International Airport or Melbourne International Airport
    • Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance
When you have your card approved you can probably earn an extra 15K via the below link for adding an additional cardholder. But be quick, expires mid April.

Unless I’m missing something, offer seams to be 100k, not 120k VA points?

You need to click on the second link, the Velocity direct offer is where you get the 30K/SC bonus but only offers 100K, did you click on my referral link (the second in the post). Hmm, that's weird tried on Microsoft Edge works fine but 100K on Chrome.

This link seems to work OK

Referral link - Amex Velocity Platinum

Not the end of the world, but still comes up as 100k for me on Crome and Safari.

Did you try that second link I posted, 20K always worth chasing!

Sure did. The link at post 1 says “Stephen has referred….” The link at post 3 doesn’t have this but is still 100k.

Ok, one final option to try,

This is for the Amex Edge but go to the bottom and you can apply for other cards of which the Velocity card seems the best option at the moment!

120k comes up for me looking at the second referral link posted…
but I’ve already got that Amex card.

Here's my referral link if anyone want's the 120k VA points offer.

Happy Dude

As noted above, the direct link gets only 100k MR points and I get 25k upon your successful application. Also, the first page from link may show only 100k MR points for the Explorer (the card I'm referring from) but click through to other cards it should show the 120k VA points for the VA version.

I can't see an expiry date (9 April?) but get in soon and you can get the 15k additional supp card offer which ends on 11 April.
