I actually enjoyed the soup, but wasn't the least impresed with the main and sadly the cheese and fruit continues to diminish in both size and content.

I dont know what you guys are complaining about, my trips in J the food as been fantastic. Better then the slop you get in Y.

+1 - although I wouldn't go as far as calling Y meals slop (aside from that pesto penne pasta & pumpkin piece), the meals I've had in J have been pretty good.

I find the PER-SYD vv Y transcon meals to be pretty good and haven't had a problem with them (I did notice on the earlier departures, there is no cheese in Y, but there is on the later flights, anyone else?).
The last SYD-BNE I did wasn't the best though, so l guess it depends what route your on.

Qantas says that their trans-con catering is to international standards, so one would expect the offerings to be better on those 4- or 5-hour flights compared to the short hops around the 'golden triangle' .

I found the transcon food in J or whY to be little better than the short hops. Certainly not international standards, not even when compared to transtasman catering. AA transcon catering in J and HNL catering in "F" puts catering on QF services of similar length to shame, though other flights are more hit or miss.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip.
I guess a recent SIN-PER and PER-SYD, both in Y, were similar, planes were A330's + had AVOD.

Wonder if the big Q will consider serving curries. Flew king fisher and Jet Airways and their food has a bit of taste. Q can even market it as Neil "sanjay" Perry inspired menu

Just reading back to my monthly flight posts, I had dozens of curries in a row on QF dom flights, I was so over curries it wasnt funny.

Then the worm turned, havent had one in 4 months.

As for NP and his now MIA NPPP's, Rockpool was a great dinner, I thought of it rather highly.

As for the new J lounge food, Friday night was average at best, I got there just after 7 and had run out of 2 of the options.

Sounds stupid I know, but I used to LOVE getting the little tubs of conisseur icecream on AN in J for desert. Ah the good ol days.......

Don't like Neil Perry and I think Qantas has gone too over the top pushing his ****e and Mark Newson inspired stuff. Most people probably wouldn't give a rats at then end of the day.

Which exactly means that whoever inspired or prepared it is irrelevant. We don't blame Neil Perry for the food as much as what the food is, period.

Just like in a court room. As a juror, you judge a person based on the facts of the alleged crime, not based on the person themselves.
