Hi everyone,

I'm just looking for a little bit of advice in regards to what kind of fares are available for a try that my mother and I are planning for her big 60 at the end of the year.

We're in Auckland, NZ so we prefer to start our trip from there. I know this is an australian board but I think there are a few kiwis around!

Essentially we intend to leave on our journey in the middle of november and need to be back in NZ before 16th December which roughly gives us 4 weeks. 1 of the 4 weeks needs to be in toronto with extended family and giving us 3 weeks to do what we want. Mum wants to spend a few days in new york, a week or so in italy, hong kong for a week or so then back to New Zealand.

It seems like a simpleish itinerary and with so few stops, oneworld/*A RTW products seem a bit overkill and a lot more expensive.

Mum doesn't like flying economy but is open to the idea of premium economy and business class travel. I can't find anything on the net about the wonderful LH and LX pseudo-RTW fares I hear so much about.

What would be the best sort of fare for us?

really open to suggestions at this stage

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Realistically a RTW ticket is probably the best option, QF fly AKL - LAX direct, so you can easily start \ end in AKL on OW, and of course *A has AirNZ...

The other thing you could look at, AirNZ is the only airline to fly right around the world. So you may be able to get an AKL-LAX-LHR-HKG-AKL flight with AirNZ, and then chose another carrier to take you to Toronto and Italy...

As for not flying Y (eccon) I guess the big question is what sort of budget do you have?

Since it's quite a big occasion, we've budgeted about ~8 for each person to fly.

I mean I can see some fares to europe in J on asiana for about 6400 tax incl ex-AKL and fares to NYC in J on asiana for ~7000 tax incl ex-akl

Just trying to figure out what options there are really at this stage
