I usually buy annual travel insurance, however I currently need insurance for a trip I had to book and pay for in 2014

I know it is a long way away, but if something happen now I would not be covered. EG say I was hit by a car today, and resulted in permanent damage meaning I could not go in 2014, I have no leg to stand on as I have no insurance at time of accident.

Seems they will only sell it 12 months ahead.

Any suggestions?

As airlines & hotels only allow reservation 365 days out at most what have you booked (and paid for ?)

Have you gone through a travel agent? Do you have airline & hotel booking confirmations?

A lot of cruises are purchased this far ahead (to get the best cabins). I suggest you would probably b covered under an annual policy if you currently have one but you should call the company. otherwise, check with specialty cruise TAs who they would use.

It is a QUEEN MARY 2 cruise. It was prebooked before release and sold out within 5 hours. We have had it booked and paid for since around august 2012

It is the same journey that Matthew Flinders took...sydney, brisbane whitsundays, darwin, bali, freemantle, adelaide, melbourne and sydney, therefore making iot a sell out like previous years.

Its the only cruise one can book 1 1/2 years a head.

I can wait till March to book insurance, but even so.... would feel safer having it now.

Yes booked through a travel agent in Melbourne, and no they dont have insurance that far ahead but she said someone has it available. Just need to find out who.

My annual insurer I have right at this minute, wont let me add it either as departure date is more than 1 year away

I don't "add" trips to my annual insurance. Traditionally it is fire and forget- once you pay for it you have cover for travel for the year. Having just perused the TID PDS I cannot see anything that says you wouldn't be covered. You would need to purchase further cover ASAP but from my reading it would be fine. Which company are you with currently?
