Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Anyone had success cancelling one of these cards after holding for a few months (and receiving the points) and receiving a pro rated refund of the unused annual fee?

Have successfully done this with ANZ and Westpac making it very cheap for the points!
As wxxnxs stated NAB have stopped giving the pro-rata refund of fees - as have ANZ - I think they have all wised up to that one.

Still NAB issuing cards as quick as possible. I applied for Cruiserette on Sunday - card arrived this morn Wed.

I re-applied for myself 2 weeks ago after cancelling only 6 weeks ago - cards arrived 3 days later - have completed the $10 spend on both - will cancel as soon as first statemernt paid in full and pts in QF account.

Wonder will I get a chance for a 3rd crack before Jan 15 cut off date :D

Oh well. Not sure if this one is worth it though at $295 for 35,000 points. That is 0.84 cents per point. Generally I like to keep these 'buy' points thing at 0.5 cents per point or under. The only thing that got me over the line with the HSBC one is the 2 QC passes which I value at $50 a pop (the going rate on ebay) which brings the points cost down to $100 for 20,000 points, or 0.5 cents per point.

The thing I like about this is the excellent NAB customer service. ANZ are total coughes by comparison.

ANZ has one fee for credit card charge which let me feel disgusting is they separate the rewards program & annual fee. So they can charge you as much as they can, they will waive your annual fee sometimes, but not rewards program fee.

I gave up waiting for the phone call and also did it online, all done within 5 minutes including filling in application.

Will go to my local NAB to discuss the other items, just have to find time away from work to squeeze into the useful 9am - 4.30pm opening hours!

Started using the cards on the 22nd November and got my 35,000 bonus points on the 12th December! And my monthly points have started rising thanks to the 1.5 points per $ AMEX! :)

Applied and approved, I might keep it and flick the QF Amex that costs $450pa especially as it's no longer offered.

Did you get the 35,00 points? I applied, approved August 2012, using both cards ever since, no 35,000 points ever given...still arguing with them, they never get back to me! Ombudsman here I come.

Surprised to hear this story - I've found their customer service nothing but helpful.

Hmm... the link on the first page doesn't seem to work for me, is it too late to signup?

same here but i was a product swap where they didnt disclose the fact despite being told of my intentions, yours?

To make the Gold card a little more appealing - if you get the Gold card, spend $7500 on it and are an NAB shareholder, you will get the annual fee waived the second year!

NAB Shareholder Benefits - National Australia Bank Group - NAB

I got caught out on this one.

You need to meet minimum spend requirements ($7500 on the QF Gold card) and then the annual fee will be waived for the following year only. This means if you apply for a brand new card, you will always pay the annual fee at least once upfront, then it will be waived for the second and subsequent years as long as you meet minimum spend requirements.

I have had success in closing my account and having the annual fee refunded due to the changes outlined in the letter of 15 January 2013 and keeping the sign-up bonus, which had already been in my QF account. Obvious thing to remember is that you need to wait until after the end of the billing cycle to cancel if you want to keep any points you will have earned this month.

Bonus points (literally) to anyone who can still manage this after the extra 5k promised on 25 March 2013 have posted to your account.

Whats the NAB's policy on points earning with ATO payments?

Thanks

Am I the only one that got a second 35000 points just after annual renewal? Or possibly it was the credit limit increase? I'd like to know what it is because if it's the credit limit increase I might put it up by $1000 each year :)
