NAB Changes Sign-Up Bonus Exclusion Period from 12 to 18 Months

I cant seem to find the time reference in any of the terms and conditions.

was going to apply for the 70k one

and my last NAB card was in Oct 2021

If I go into my NAB online banking and select products/credit cards then the NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card terms state:

This bonus Qantas Points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Qantas Rewards bonus points for a new personal NAB Qantas Rewards credit card in the 12 months prior to the opening of a NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card or NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card. This advertised offer of bonus points is not applicable or valid in conjunction with any other advertised or promotional offer.

Wonder have they just forgotten to update this section?
My post above yours is about this too, that’s what I noticed on internet banking and applied for.

I got my points in the end but it wasn’t straightforward. It seems those terms are out of date in reality.

I just want to question this ‘for existing customers’ part of the clause. What is the definition of a new customer? Last I checked it was someone who has not banked with them for more than 12 months. If I’ve left NAB for 13 months, I don’t think the clause should apply cos I’m not an existing customer.
When I applied for a new cc, they gave me a new customer ID and everything. Surely this 18 month clause is just for existing customers who are churning through their credit cards?

If you do decide to apply, I'd be time dated taking screenshots of the application as you'll probably be in for a fight to get the bonus points.
Yep true to form NAB are being a royal pain on this. I sent a complaint via their online form as the bonus points were not paid. They replied stating the terms and conditions were 18 months. So I replied with a screenshot of their advertisement and they still refused saying “the terms and conditions had changed”. I’m surprised as this is at least false advertising and I’ve shown them I have a screenshot of their advert. Anyway I’ve made a complaint via ACFA. Will report back..

They’ll do it on the first escalation stage at AFCA. They know they’ve stuffed this one up but are making it hard for some reason. I had no issues getting the full points (including the 2nd year allocation). Did need to open the AFCA case though (despite having a fully copy of the T&Cs from the date of signup).

Dumb question I know, but can I still get the NAB bonus points if I have a citi card?
Definitely not a dumb question. The answer is yes: having a Citi card doesn’t prevent you from receiving NAB bonus points. If it’s not specifically excluded in the T&Cs (which it isn’t) you’ll get your bonus points if you meet the spending criteria.

Thanks - easy 70k QFF points coming my way then :)

NAB are still persisting with a separate Citi brand (which I guess was then plan when they oddly purchased them). More and more Citi products are being removed from the market so we’ll see how that goes. But for now, they’re separate. NAB has even retained Citis absolutely outstanding Manila based customer service contractor.

Just to confirm NAB have advised they will give the points. It took the ACFA complaint for them to do it though.

NAB service does appear to be hitting a new low. I’ve raised a major Citi stuff up with them (that did end up with someone at NAB) and got a lying, condescending response. Needless to say, yet another AFCA complaint coming 🙄. I assume they’ve decided it’s cheaper to cop the odd escalation rather than fix service at first point of contact.

Hope they don't start mucking around with bonus eligibility seeing all the card programs NAB manage nowadays!

I currently have a Qantas premier platinum (waiting on bonus), and a NAB rewards signature (bonus received July), and was thinking of applying for the Suncorp Clear Options for the 70k bonus points, but I notice this one's managed by NAB too!

I think (hope) all the NAB managed programs are all separate - not seeing anything in the terms, just getting paranoid I guess 🤔

FYI as expected no dramas with three NAB managed cards and FF point bonuses. Qantas pp received on first statement after spend req met, and same with Suncorp (received 6th and 16th of Sept respectively)

I applied for NAB card recently as a new customer (no NAB product ever). Denied! Despite having a very very healthy income, no significant debts and a credit score of 892.

So it's not just churners they are trying to get rid of ....

This is good news as I have a white-label CC (now managed by NAB) and was thinking of applying for another one but wasn't sure if I'd get the bonus points as they're all managed by NAB now. Perhaps I should apply for that other one now?

I can only speak for the NAB ones I have; Suncorp, Qantas Premier Platinum and NAB rewards Signature - all applied/approved/bonus points given over the past couple of months. No dramas with those ones... as long as they haven't changed the T&Cs recently.
