Hi team,

Love the show. Long time listener, first time caller.

Something just popped up on my QFF activity statement, and I've never seen it before. It appears on the statement as this:

PRODUCT "FAWMEMBERFREE" WITH NAME "QANTA

It awards no points or SC's.

I've searched high and low on Google, Qantas.com and these forums, and still can't work out why it's appeared on my activity statement. I was hoping some kind and more enlightened person than I could possibly shed some light on this for me? :)

It's obviously not something that will keep me awake at night, but hey... I am a curious guy!

Cheers ;)

Do the letters F A W mean anything to you ? Your employer, corporate travel provider, hotel chain , annual insurance, club (eg. Auto club) or anything else linked to QF even if you didn't do the linking?

Did you just join/renew an epiQure subscription?

I think you have hi the nail on the head Mrs Ansett has same thing on her statement and another line

PRODUCT "COMPGITAINV" WITH NAME "TAITTIN which was the half price Tatinger :)

Wow thanks guys, you have may have unravelled that rather quickly! You little QFF genies ;)

Ansett, if your better half had this appear on her statement, that's surely a big clue that it relates to epiQure!

ChrisFlyer
, yep, interesting thinking! I haven't renewed it recently, however I did join epiQure back in March using a complimentary membership code I picked up off here or AusBT. Maybe it was a code related to the acronym FAW, as that might explain the "FAWMEMBERFREE" part... Just odd that it would turn up now.

OzEire;because I plucked the code off the forums, F A W doesn't jump out at me as any of the QFF programs or partners I use. On the other hand, as pointed out by cmon0005, I did book a table thru Qantas Restaurants recently, which just happened to be during the food and wine festival... and those points came through on the same day as this weird statement entry! (However, I didn't book the table through any sort of F&W Festival promotion or offer, and it hasn't turned up before when I've made restaurant bookings...)

Interesting... well, these explanations mix together enough to satisfy my curiosity for now. Thanks for the great sleuthing!! :)

How many points did you earn, that might also give a clue.
Or was it a zero earn?
It says on the QFF website, its 3 points per $1 spent, and 2k QFF for first 12 months purchases.
Personally, I don't drink wine that much, so haven't joined epiQure, and the points earn is not a wow factor for me. Neither is the QFF restaurant earn rate for booking and eating any more of a wow factor.
5 points per $1 earn at either, and I am into it.

AustraliaPoochie: The earn rate was zilcho. It was just a text entry!

To be honest, I haven't used epiQure yet! I presumed incorrectly that they would have a beer offering like Cellarmasters, and I tend not to buy cases of wine. So no orders placed so far.

P.S. Don't write off QFF restaurants just yet... they don't go by spend, they go by 100pts per head!

e.g. if I book a table for two (200pts) and spend $30 on my lunch... That's about 6pts per dollar. I just book restaurants that I was already going to go to lunch or dinner at anyway! ...Even when I know it will be easy to snag a table there... ;)

Plus.... I often book on behalf of a group of ten (or more). If dinner sets me back, say, $70 for the night, then the earn rate for me was 14pts per dollar! (And then I'll often generously offer to put the group bill on my points-earning credit card, instead of splitting the bill). :)

I have the same entry. Although I have been an EpiQure member for a few months now. That being said, epiQure now shows up in my QFF profile.

Strange items on my Activity Statement

Hi all,

Checked my Activity Statement today to see if my Citibank 80K had gone in (it has, woohoo!) and saw these two odd items listed - any ideas?

Shame they don't have any points or SCs with them....

Re: Strange items on my Activity Statement

Joined epiQure lately?

There was another thread about this.

Re: Strange items on my Activity Statement

Ahh, yes I did, thanks. I did a search too - didn't find it! Not much of a mystery, but thanks for the solution anyway!

Not a problem. It was only yesterday that it came up anyway.

Re: Strange items on my Activity Statement

yeah I got this too... interesting. I joined Epiqure about 3 months ago...

Re: Strange items on my Activity Statement

I have got this entry too but I am not an epicure club member.
I, however, suspect this is the point I earned from Qantas Bankwest Card
