The decline in QP food is certainly appauling.

But when I get annoyed, I just think of the AA Admirals Clubs!

I just think of the Aer Lingus lounge in Cork, Ireland (shudders)

They are just plain lazy up there in Cairns and they really need to be taught some manners.

Must have been a reeeel bad day because I find the CNS QP staff excellent in their service - even brought out the hot stuff at 3pm last Friday! Got to know some of the long term staff there over the years and is always a pleasure to be greeted by name.

Concur with all of above. Soup's another thing that annoys me, at MEL they seem to put out one vat of it and that's it. Very rarely can u get soup much after 6pm.

Still, the best food in any QP is the Almond/Caramel slice they serve up in CBR, looking forward to more tomorrow afternoon.

I found the same thing at MEL. I was somewhat miffed when I found their mushroom soup rather nice and went back for the 2nd helping, and it was gone and not replenished. That was around 5:45 pm.

When compared to the airport it is in, and other Aer Lingus lounges (LHR comes to mind), it really isn't that bad. Also some of BA's lounges in parts of Europe aren't that great to compare either.

Beer, wine, cheese, crackers, fruit cake, and fruit were all available (if I recall correctly).

Nothing else to do of course bar drink and read the paper :)

Now, I'd feel miffed if I had to pay the going admission rate though (IIRC, 20 Euros!)

Aer Lingus leaves OneWorld shortly, so the bad catering will also disappear from that part of the OW network.

Mal,

Cork airport cracked me up. It is the first airport I have been to where you have a fire place in the baggage claim hall

I now spend a lot of time in HKIA Lounges, but when I experience a bad on, I think about Bombay. Quite possibly the worst lounge in the world. I get better service and chioce of things if I was to sit on a stack of newspapers in the newsagents, buy a bottle of Coke and munch on a chocolate bar!

I'm also in PER, and although it would be nice to have a lounge with more provisions for us hungry travellers, it's not a bad place at all. I prop up the bar frequently! If they had a frequent drinker card, I think I may be triple platinum! ;)

Cheers!

Dave
