Gawwd! I've just got one of these cards. Is this what I have to look forward to?

Well it's a small price to pay for seeing all those points hit my Starwood account (as well as the overseas lounge access and travel insurance)

I did manage to do an online transfer of points to SPG. But as usual nothing is simple in Diner's land. I had to transfer them in blocks of 3000 Diners points(=1500 SPG points). They rang the next day to tell me that it had gone through. Points showed up in SPG account 2-3 days later. The previous time I did on the phone transfer it took around 30 days for the transfer to go through.

Thanks for the report. It's good to know that it can happen. My CSO tried that. He also tried putting my surname first in the name box. And other undocumented apparent "requirements". But we couldn't make it happen.

Cross fingers it gets better

A solution.Tried as usual to transfer points to get 40000 SPG points and as usual failed.
But to get 1500 SPG points it worked.
So tonight I will try and find the maximum I can get the website to transfer.

Hmm, I was told last time I was on the phone that the maximum transfer amount in any one hit was 24,000 DC points for 12,000 SPG points.

Over the last month I have tried from 20000 DC points and up with no success.Maybe they have reduced the limit.
Under the old IT system that they had I could transfer virtually any amount.I think the largest I did was 120000 points.

That wasn't online (I've never been able to transfer points online). According to the representative, that was the maximum you could transfer to SPG in one hit over the phone!

So I got the right result for the wrong reason!
Hopefully its not a one off.

With DC, who knows... Wasn't there a Diners Club representative on here a while back? It would be nice if they popped back on this board and were able to clarify:

- when / if the online redemption function will be addressed
- what the exact transfer limits to various programs are, either by phone or online.

Obviously got lucky this morning.Just tried transferring 20000 DC points, then 10000 and finally 2000.none went through.

I have been only do online transfer to SPG at 3000 diners points(1500 SPG) points at time. It is highly annoying as I had to transfer 60000 points last month which meant I had to do 20 transfers. However, still preferable and faster than ringing them up.

Thanks it does seem that 3000 points is the limit.Successfully transferred 3 lots of 3000 points this morning but failed at 3200 points.

Just got a call from Diners customer service. The issue has been officially recognised and escalated to senior management and the technical team in the USA. Also the catalogue is being updated. So "bear with us while we are working through it".

Well I have been transferring 3000 points at a time. They certainly disappear from my DC account but have yet to make my SPG account.

My points took about 7 days to appear in SPG account for an online transfer done in early November

Let us know when it gets to the recipient though ;)

Agree. I transferred points over the phone in December (first and last transfer so couldn't do it online) and they are still not in my account!!!!!! I did this before I cancelled my card and am now having to call them every week or so to get them to continue following it up.

This is the nail in the coffin that confirmed I absolutely made the right decision in closing my account.

Yes. I've noticed the same. Points leave Diners but don't arrive at destination. I think I might be forced to ditch mine too. Quite hopeless.

Once I am able to transfer points they do not take long to appear in my SPG account.Longest~10 days. Not as quick as Amex though.
