Next week I am going on a status from out of the States on AA. The idea is to get the extra status credits I need to get to WP, and also qualify for AA platinum.

Everything should work ok as long as I don't get murdered in Honduras which is apparently one of the things they do well there.

I need to have a couple of the flights allocated to Qantas, I think I just need to have the FF number changed at check-in on those flights from AA to QF.

I also have United Gold.

I am trying to work out which of the 3 programs will suit me best in the future, most of my travel will be international, and from Australia to the USA.

US domestically, United were giving good upgrades for free, whereas it look like I have to pay for upgrade vouchers on AA which sort of defeats the purpose of a few upgrade.

Anyone have experience any similiar experiences/advice.

Also did anyone else get the qantas bonus points offer for flights to the USA?
