Hi All,

Would appreciate your experience with the following... my better half and I are doing GVA-LHR-SIN-SYD, no stopovers, next year. Due to points and paid mix of bookings we are stuck with several tickets, as follows..

GVA-LHR-SIN - both in Y GVA-LHR and then Y+ LHR-SIN (QF32) - both of us on one ticket/PNR
SIN-LHR (same QF32) - 1 in Y+, 1 in Y (or Y+, not booked yet) - different PNRs

Given the 3 PNRs, and checking in at GVA - what are the chances of getting luggage checked all the way through to SYD? Do you think they'll look at it and think 'too hard basket' and expect us to check/recheck in SIN (not possible due to time restrictions and flying on to SYD on the same flight)...

Not too worried about seat selection - will have an infant with us (all being well!) so will be requesting bassinet anyway.

Which airline GVA-LHR? Presume BA given rest is QF.

Basically if the airline you are flying has an interline agreement with QF (most "fluu service carriers"), it shouldnt matter and the bags will check all the way through. The number of PNRs/class of bookings dont matter (class will matter for luggage allowance though).

Yep- GVA LHR is BA. Good to hear you guys don't think there will be any issues- have done multi PNR checkins for myself before but not for two people with a bunch of different ones.

See if you can reserve the bassinet seats now because if you just have a request only for a bassinet seat but no actual seat allocation you may end up with seats in any row if someone else with an infant reserves the bassinet seats ahead of time.

You should be able to do this through reservations as soon as you have made the booking(s).

Most importantly when you associate the infant to yourself or partner, make sure the infant is attached to the same adult in all pnrs. I saw a case where a couple had two separate bookings DRW/CNS & CNS/BNE but the infant was attached to the mum on one booking & the dad on the other.

When checkin tried to merge the flights in the checkin record for the purpose of through checkin for both boarding passes & bag tags to the final destination it caused a bit of a headache & took a while to sort out but with success in the end.

Thanks for the heads up. The new one isn't born yet, and from what I understand we can't add them to the booking until they are born and have a name...

Does anyone know if status affects bassinet requests or if it's first come, first served?

Just provide a dummy name and change it later...............SPRUCE:lol:

The multiple PNRs wont affect the luggage coming through - if you have any issue it will be getting the bags once Heathrow's handlers have had their way with them.....mine went missing three times in a row on SYD-LHR-GVA flights last year....not fun!

Maybe you could call the baby Tabitha, or TBA for short;)

cheers skip

I saw a name once where the first name was pax. Thought the travel agent might not have known his first name at the time of booking but it turns out his first name was in fact Pax which he explained was latin for "peace".
