So my friend was saying he's planning on doing a JASA Mel-syd return twice in one day cause he wants platinum 1 (although I don't see that being that much of a big deal after much convo about it here, but each to there own!)

I remember reading once or maybe I'm imagining things, but do you earn status credits for multiple trips on same route in a day?

I don't see why not, but a JASA MEL-SYD would only give you 40 SCs each way, he's got a long way to go lol

Double status credit. Each return trip netting 160 sc. He's just 300 short. Hence the 2 trips in a day

There have been cases reported where they do not automatically credit if you fly the same sector multiple times in a day. A phone call normally rectifies this.

This just happened to me - the system couldn't handle it and it took 3 phone calls to rectify. I am still waiting for the double s/c to post but have to wait for 6 weeks after the flight.

The second set of flights would not normally credit automatically and more than likely require a call to customer care to have them credit manually....

Why not just do a single MEL-PER return instead for 160 x 2 = 320SC? A lot less stuffing around and time spent sitting on the ground. Also you might be able to do it on the really nice A330s.

why not MEL x SYD ASP return?? 240 sc x 2.. and less points and $ then MEL-SYD twice..
