I am heading to China at the end of the week. At the end of the trip I am meeting up with a couple of friends in HKG and we are all on the same flight HKG-SYD. Neither of the other two have status / QP membership.

According to information from Qantas, as a WP I can only bring 1 guest into international QP's (whereas is two guests for domestic) or OneWorld lounges.

Has anyone successfully taken two guests into either the HKG QP or Wing / Pier?

I have only tried once, last August with Me as a QF WP, mrs as a QF PG, mini serfty as a QF NB and my neice as a QF NN.

No F wing access for us 4, could have F for 2 on mine and J for 2 on Mrs'. 'Twas morning so had some Dim Sum for brekky in the Wing J lounge then headed to QP await flight.

I believe you can have two guests in the QF F lounge as a WP.

Thanks Serfty. I thought that I would have more luck getting two guests into the QP than the CX lounges, so if I can do this that would be fine.

While stopping off in HK last June I got my two kids into the Qantas F lounge both ways without any hassle - I have a QF WP card but we were travelling Y. WP is meant to allow you two guests into a Qantas lounge but wasn't sure about overseas.

For other OW carriers, it's another story. In Heathrow my attempt to get the kids into any lounge was met with a sneer - 1 guest only and no exceptions. But in Dubai last month I asked very nicely and got two friends into the Terraces lounge for breakfast (they had been bounced off an Emirates flight and were severely stressed). YMMV.

All the information I have been able to locate on the QF / OW websites indicates only 1 guest for a WP in international lounges and 2 guests for domestic QP lounges. Have heard anecdotal evidence of people getting multiple guests into international lounges so was interested in the experience of others on this forum.

As ever, the more polite you are the better your chances....

Both guests are female and blonde, so could just take one in, leave again and then re-enter using the same two BP's shortly after (not that I'm advocating doing anything that breaches the rules for lounge access....)

The CX Pier lounge is First at one end, then there's the connecting passage near the noodle bar, then the Business part starts. You could try to sneak one guest in in either entrance. You can always ask politely.

I thought of this, but have a feeling it won't work.

When entering from the Nth entrance with mrs serfty last week, information from our BP's was typed in to their desktop pc.

I'm sure there would be a reference to my entry available on the Sth Downstairs entrance if I tried that. ;)

I have gotten my wife and daughter into the Wing/Pier F based on my status alone, though have to say that my daughter was 6 and 18 months respectively on the two occasions this occured and this probably meant they didn't "count" her as a guest per se.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I also snuck in the wife (N/A), missy (4) and master (6) to the HK QC last year, but they did make the slightly sarcastic comment "Just one member?".
I think next year's trip (the kids will be 6 & 9) will be the acid test of my ability to grovel!

I've said it before - but I really miss the old system (10 guest passes per year). I have 3 complimentary QC invitations but they all expire this year, so come next September I will just have the 1 from re-qualifying Silver. My idea of a barter club was met with stony silence, so this is yet another way that Qantas has found to replace a tangible benefit with one that often slips through your fingers.

April last year I was travelling HKG - MEL with my wife and one daughter and my other daughter was travelling HKG - BNE. (All on Red E deal tickets)
I asked and I was allowed all three as guests in the HKG QP J lounge rather than the one into the F lounge. (daughters are adults)

We happily agreed :!:

..... a bye line was that the three of us for MEL were all upgraded to J :D at the gate and the other daughter to BNE had a three hour delay :!:
