Trying to make use of the DSC offer and as I've mentioned having trouble getting J flights to, well, anywhere close to Athens. Ideally it would be via LHR or JFK to maximise offer. I can go via Dallas but earliest date in July is too late (10th).

By some miracle I've got as far as San Francisco on QF then BA through to Athens for the points flight for my partner. Starting Sun July 7 QF529-QF73-BA286-BA634 188k points plus whatever dollars.

Try as I might though I cannot get a paid flight to work on the mutli-city booking engine. It might be so horrifically expensive it's a no straight away. Ideally we'd like to come back first week August so we have four weeks away but of course can't book that either. Why is this so hard? I dread the thought of having to ring the WP 'help' centre but it might be the only way :(

I spoke too soon and the price is terrifying, well, for us $20,665! I don't need those SCs that badly! I'd get 745 SCs plus the double for BNE-SYD-SFO then LAX-BNE. Back to the drawing board

While it’s not the worst out there, the QF multi-city engine has always given me problems. Have occasionally booked elsewhere as a result.

I also hate calling but have had to on a couple of occasions too.

If you go PER-SYD-LAX-JFK-LAX-SYD-PER you will get 1440 SCs usually for about $7000 using double status all on QF flights.

Can get trips on the QF site via LHR for $13242. That's Flex, not sale hence the higher price. 745 SC plus bonus each way.

Calendar's only open to 27th July so far though.

We'll have a play on the weekend and see what we can find. We can of course fly QF to Singapore then EK to Athens for under $6k, and get a points flight to go with it. Do we want the Greek Islands holiday more than the SCs? If this is really what we're wonder status chasing is not healthy!
