QFLate is later than normal after doing a BNE-BNE flight, and QF108 declared an emergency on descent, lots of fun this morning, not a good day to be travelling in Sydney. BNE has taken quite a few diversions including QF130.

Sorry, RVR in English is???

Declaring an emergency for low fuel would I imagine not be popular with QF (maybe a qn for jb747).

I guess I'm assuming they don't like the a/c to sail so close to the wind, or "everyone would do it".

Have posted in the ATP thread anyway.

I'm guessing that they were caught in a holding pattern and it finally exhausted part of their reserve..

RVR is runway visual range. Given the fog was unforecast and NTL and Richmond were out as well, events were to be expected. Not declaring an emergency has resulted in unhappy endings in the past.
