Re: Domestic Row 4/Row 23 and seating for WP Discussion
I agree, NM. I happened to look at the profile of a regular contributor to this site, (not for any nefarious purpose I hasten to add, just wanted to look at a detail, just my curiousity), and was shocked to see a couple of posts sent direct to his blog by another member. Obviously there had been a bit of argy bargy between the two members but I was really surprised to read the comments - rude, nasty and quite personallyoffensive. Wondered why they were left on the member's site, I suppose they were edited out of the thread but why do they remain anywhere at all?.The action taken will depend on the nature of the inappropriate content posted. Sometimes we contact the poster and request that they edit their own post. Other times we may remove the entire post and any others quoting the offending post. Another option is to just redact the offending portion of the post if the remaining content of the post adds value to the thread.
I do not see any benefit in moving offending posts to a publicly viewable area (graveyard as you call it) - even with such a warning about it content. That would be like establishing a "box ring" forum and throwing it own to all sorts of abuse and offensive posts (and lots of spam). I do not see that such a forum would be positive for AFF or its members.
