HI,

I'm plotting another set of flights that will have me using the NAIA still among worlds worst airports 4 times in the space of 6 days.

I did a similar trip 18 months ago (http://www.australianfrequentflyer....scussion/luggage-storage-at-manila-49079.html) and survived by understanding the terminals and required transits. Does anyone have the latest information to augment these terminals which I base on previous flights plus reference to wikipedia : Ninoy Aquino International Airport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PR from BNE to arrive in Terminal 2 (then taxi to city)

5 days later

CEBU Pacific to depart to Cebu in Terminal 3 (will use left luggage service again)

2 days later

PAL Express back from Surigao arrive Terminal 3 (pickup left luggage)

10 hours later

PR to BNE to depart Terminal 2.

Apart form the insanity of it, do these terminals look current to the best of our collective knowledge?

At least you are not traversing through T1 which is noted as the worst airport.
T2 is not too bad but still bad.
T3, as stated is the oldest "new" terminal but best of the lot. A lot more international airlines have moved over there in the last few weeks including CX.

Well planning too far ahead appears to have been my downfall but also to my benefit.

Turns out my CEB flight was to have been operated on a Tiger Philippines DG flight number and was leaving T2. As the time was nearing I could see better options if I just took a direct flight with PR as just to change the 5J - DG flight was going to cost more than the entire original flight. So I had mentally written it off.

On Monday, one exact calendar month prior to the scheduled flight I received an email from Tiger/CEB advising the flight had been cancelled with an offer to reschedule, rebook credit or refund. Woohoo, a get out of jail free card. I accepted the refund and put it towards the PR flight.

Incidentally, this is the second flight in two months Tiger has cancelled on me. The other was Phnom Phen to SIN. Fo me, in Asia, they are becoming a bad choice.

I'm changing terminals and transiting MNL twice over the next month. I'm actually morbidly quite looking forward to it after hearing all the horror stories!

Just an update on the state of things at MNL T1, which QF is still using: with the departure of CX/SQ/EK and a few others to T3, T1 is now a great deal less crowded and easier to get to, and is (at last!) being substantially renovated. QF pax now get to use the former CX lounge (both J & F sections together), which provides a great deal more room than the previous "Manila lounge", but sadly does not provide an inside loo; you have to use the public facilities. If you have Diners or Priority pass, check out the "PAGSS" lounge; this is the former SQ lounge, opposite the CX lounge, and is larger again and has an inside loo; best of all, round QF departure times it seems to be largely deserted!
