I am a Velocity Gold FF travelling on Lufthansa ticketed Singapore Airlines metal.

I put my Velocity FF details on the boarding passes at check-in, and I have been denied any status or award points for these flights due to them being Lufthansa ticketed flights. I am also Air New Zealand Gold and contacted AirNZ about claiming the points, but I have been told the points have already been paid to another FF programme.

So does anyone know how I proceed from here or have I lost these award and status points???

Note the Velocity flight indicates that "flights OPERATED by Singapore Airlines are eligible". The note about selected services not being eligible is not specific, hence its misleading if this fits under that note.

I spoke to Velocity and they said because this was a codeshare (even though the boarding passes only show the SIN flight number) they are not eligible flights.

That is a really old page and actually a news release, you probably found it through google and quite frankly it's incorrect because it's old.

The current page is:

Codeshare flights have always been excluded from the deal.

Unfair as it seems, I think you won't end up with any miles.
Codeshares are funny beasts and you can often only end up being allowed to credit to the marketing carrier.
With an ineligible FF number on the boarding pass , most airlines will wriggle out

No miles for you sorry :(

I haven’t had any problems crediting miles to VFF on AF ticketed SQ operated SQ code flights.
Booked as part of a return trip from CDG to SYD the SIN-SYD-SIN portion was SQ code and operated and got all the miles. Even family pooling worked.

Not sure I fully understand.

It's not the ticketing agency that's important but the combination of flight number (=marketed) and metal (=operated) that makes a difference.

Presumably you didn't get any VA points on either AF flight numbers or AF metal.

My bad I got the wording mixed up since op said LH ticketed I thought he/she mean’t tickets where LH stock but SQ marketed and operated.

Naturally I didn’t get VA points for the AF flights but retro claiming them to AF was no issue. Odd that NZ would say its impossible.

Odd that NZ would say its impossible.
It sounds like the attempt to claim it has been recorded and so any subsequent attempt fails as the other airline does not necessarily know that the first airline did not credit points / SC.

I'd ask VA if they can remove it on their side? I'd simply say sorry, admin error on my part, please remove my erroneous claim so I can claim through the correct FFP

Considering LH and VA are not partners beyond the basic interline, getting Miles/Status would be close to zero.

It's the same for any airline, codeshares by a partner airline of a FF program operated by another airline (Which is not a partner of the home airline's nominated FF program) generally award 0 Miles/Points/Status/etc.

I followed up with NZ, and how they are saying G is an invalid booking code for Premium Economy. I'm guessing they were looking at Singapore booking codes, not Lufthansa. Still chasing them up - they are just being lazy I think. I am persuasive, I'm sure I'll get there in the end.

Was the flight LH marketed (LH flight number) & SQ operated?
Ticket issued by is a 3rd factor, that usually makes no difference to ffp's (Revenue based ffp's can have odd rules).

Will need to ask VA Velocity to remove the ffn from the reservation/ff system, even though it earned nil ff points. Your ffn is still associated with that flight hence the NZ response.

In Oneworld the marketing carrier determines ff earning (with an eligible operating carrier)
In Star the operating carrier determines ff earning (with an eligible marketing carrier).
Where the ffp, the marketing carrier & operating carrier are all different ff earning are problematic unless all 3 in the same alliance

Marketing LH
Operating SG

Worse case I could allocate my krisflyer account details but I would prefer to allocate to my Gold AirNZ Airpoints account

Success - when I provided the LH flight numbers this allowed them to get their ducks in a row... Note to self, don't confuse them, provide the LH ticket number and hence the LH flight numbers.

Happy to have been proven wrong

The page I found online has incomplete information. It implies that codeshare flights are accepted and instead this page should be deleted or should reference the full rules which seem to be on another page.

The page referenced at the top of this thread is an announcement from Velocity's news release archive from 20 December 2011 (Velocity Program Updates | Velocity Frequent Flyer). It's not the authority on VA's partnership with SQ - that would be this page:

Anyway, good this was able to be fixed in the end. It's a bit of a "catch 22" if you get denied a claim by one frequent flyer program, then denied again by another on the basis of already having claimed with the first one!
