Minimum Booking Time - Award Booking

I can't seem to find this in the terms and conditions of Krisflyer or by searching threads but does anyone have any knowledge or experience of the minimum time before a flight that you can book a reward seat?

For example if I wanted to fly today, can I book and what time would booking close (assuming availability and an actual flight from my departure airport)?

As a further query, does anyone have any experience on waitlisting flights on the same day and them clearing.

I booked a LHR to MEL F/R trip last year at 3am local time for a 10 pm departure same day
