This was posted a couple of years ago when it first opened! But still awesome to watch... and way better than a train set :D

I wonder if the residents of those houses next door lodge noise complaints! But yes, it is amazing and assuming I get back to that part of the world I'll be having a captain at it.

With minature double-glazing and a minature No Aircraft Noise Party. Not to mention demands for a minature second airport.

Nice. Have to put that one on The List.

Funny part where the tug releases the Thai A380, which promptly does a full 180 on the spot, just after the ground car nearly smashes into it (02:20)

I think the ground car was always meant to stop at a spot just beyond the turning circle. Probably how it happens in real life. He was speeding along though!

I'd like to see JB's input on the tight U turn done by the A380. Looked like it would be hell on the trucks IRL.

I visited Miniatur Wunderland in 2011, I spent about 4 hours taking lots of photos, I will be finishing off a trip report from 2011 and I will dedicate a whole post just on it.

The airport component cost - ready - 3.5 million euro! So much for my retirement hobby!

I believe the video said over 6 years, but that was to the first version and I'm sure they're adding to it all the time! :p

Video also said however that it's the most popular tourist attraction in their city ;) (I think)

Love their work. I am amazed at how it all works together so well.

Train sets are very dull!

Going to HAM in October to visit Miniatur Wunderland. :) The OH is very keen on the train sets. I of course am more interested in the miniature airport. :D

What an amazing collection. I wonder how they got planning approval to put the airport so close to the city? ;)
