Funny how perceptions rule.. we allowed just a short stop in at an outlet complex at LasV north, overstayed our time and could have shopped all day...

Maybe $3 and this was when we were on parity with USD. I went crazy shopping. I think I just left the change from $5. I must brush up on tipping as we will be in SF in 2 weeks!

Hot dog prices vary across the city most are $ 2-3, down by Wall St $7 but they are a bit nicer too.

i have always wanted to, but Mr FM bullies me out of it, as he doesn’t think it looks safe. I figure thousands eat it everyday, so it has to be

always confuses me. There was a desk at the airport where you told the lady where you wanted to take the taxi to, and she organises it, so I told Mr FM to give her a dollar (it was that or $20). She thought it was very funny and said you don’t need to tip her, but she seemed happy with it anyway.

The Park Hyatt seems to automatically include an 18% gratuity on food so don’t have to think about that. Gratuity is included in the prepaid price for Eleven Madison Park, so don’t need to worry about that either. I think we tipped our taxi driver too much - he seemed pretty happy.

If you want to get some serious shopping in to escape the weather Woodbury Common outlets is a great day trip. Bus from 42nd street bus terminal

Unfortunately I hate shopping - only my duty to the girls would get me to Desigual.

Nope it’s a chain - Spanish based and the girls love the clothes. Medium priced - I have some photos of things they might like, so will post here as well.

There was space for adding more if you wanted to - we didn’t as we felt 18% was enough for good service but nothing out of the way. We didn’t sense any attitude but we will see if we go back for breakfast. If we get ignored then we know we have to give more . When we got room service on the first night, the girl just said is it OK to charge to the room and then gathered up the bill and said it’s all included and didn’t give us any opportunity to give more.

Eleven Madison Park make a bit of a thing on their webpage that it’s included and they don’t want more given. Not sure what happens for extras like alcohol. It’s all very difficult! I do prefer the including it system.
