G'day,

Has anyone got a definitive explanation on the differences between the two please.

Have done plenty of searching but can only find some second hand anecdotal reports on them giving status credits.

They are appearing at the same cost, DRW to FCO for 15th Jan 2013.

Thanks as always

AFAIK Anytime AAwards can only be redeemed on AA metal.

MilesAAver AAwards are your traditional Classic Awards that earn no miles/SCs.

Given domestic (American) redemptions don't seem terribly great value - I've never redeemed an Anytime AAward.

AAnytime AAwards book into the highest class fare buckets on AA marketed and operated flights (F, J & Y), so they are generally available.

Being AAwards, travel on them is not supposed to earn any miles/points/status, however if after travelling on one someone did have such earning, I would suggest:

- Not to publicise that on a public forum, and,
- Not expect subsequent travel to earn so.

The awards shown are all MileSAAver awards. The differences are Economy (45000), Business (60000) and First (80000).
