Found a link to this on another forum but I expect any Mileage Plus members have heard it directly:

And when you have Premier[SUP]® [/SUP]status, you’ll earn even more. <<
Let's hope no other FF programmes copy the idea. OK perhaps for business travellers, but not so good for occasional leisure travel.
