Is this the right place to ask if there is a timetable for US flights to be added?

7: PHX-ANC: 2nd of 6 (North America)
Error!!! No oneworld service exists PHX-ANC

It will help as I am sure SLF is subscribed to this thread.

The main area is the a thread in the FT one World forum.

And can I just add my sincere thanks to him/her for the creation and provision of this amazing tool. If you live in or visit Au, I owe you a very decent drink.

Hi everyone,
Do we know if mileage monkey is update for the zones according to QF?
Trying to do status run in August in LOFTAP and working this out.

Thanks

Just ensure your flights are over 750m then, otherwise the earning gets smashed but the new table

No. Change log is here
Nor does it include the newish OW airlines. A lot of work of work do this. SLF will earn many beers, from users, if he does this, but I would not be hopeful

Never say never :)

I may get some time in the next couple of weeks. I'm always open to offers of help - that could be JS programming, or even working out the detailed changes required to update the award/earning scales :). (MM code is hosted on github, but the data (e.g. flights) is not). Having said that I have one obstacle to overcome to bring MM fully up to date, and part of the delay is in me figuring out how to do that.

Well, if you ever come to WA, dinner and/or drinks are on me, regardless of if you manage the update.

Keep up the good work.

Does anyone, including QF, know this for the combinations of route, airline & booking class's? :).
Simpler and fairer it is not

Only SC"s earn has been published - although there was an aborted attempt to publish some points earning on parted a few weeks ago.

Well, i seem to have managed a flight database update. US, UL, JJ and QR are all in and all flights are current. Note that no rule or other changes have been done, but feel free to highlight anything amiss

Love your work SLF!

The DONE4 I'm working on was coming up with two errors (which I knew were fine in reality) but a quick F5, relist and now I've got that lovely green Valid! being displayed.

Now if only the OWE RTW "plan and book tool" would recognise GRU-IGU (as flown by TAM) as a valid leg, the way MM does...

Does anyone know if QFF SC table has now been updated on MM?

looking to do MEL-SYD-JNB-LHR-CPH-HEL-BUD-LHR-BOS-JFK-AUS-DFW-MEM-DFW-LAX-MEL which shows as SC earn of 1320
but given only a handful of flights are QF I doubt this is correct under simpler and fairer given D class

just want to ensure 1200 SC's come my way for WP renewal :)

A couple of points which will hopefully clarify and guide:

1. The SC calculations in MM are typically distance based (I.e. Between X and Y miles distance will earn Z SCs)
2. I am not familiar personally with QF SC earn rates or any changes to these. Feel free to point me at a concise summary of any changes and I can do my best to ensure MM reflects these
3. Implied in your post is that QF have different earn rates for their own metal(codeshares) than on others. Or perhaps different booking classes within the same cabin can result in different earn rates. As there is no way for you to tell MM what carrier you have chosen for a sector (often multiple carriers will serve the same sector) it is not possible for MM to take this into account. Nor does MM know whether you are booking into J, C, D, I etc.

I'm happy to update/correct MM if I can be pointed at a definitive reference for the change (plus a concise summary/interpretation if needed), and providing of course it is possible to do in MM without extensive rewrites (which I don't have time to do). Please feel free to share any relevant links in this thread!

When I wrote my own calculator for the new QFF system, whilst the SC earn system can be systemised it is not concise nor simple. The main thing is that it is a geographical zone based system in most cases (both QF operated and partner operated) and distance based for the rest. The storage arrays for the data necessary to calculate QF SCs is much greater than before (obviously, but needs to be said).

For MM I know that people used to just use the tool for simple itineraries (i.e. simply check "ignore errors") but when mainly used for RTW itinerary validation, you could take for granted the classes booked were A, D or L.

FWIW I haven't checked but how did MM manage the TP earn system for BA flights? Whilst the TP earn tableaux are simpler than QF SCs, knowing what is short haul, short haul+, and the longer haul for BA operated flights is not systematic (e.g. LON/HEL is short haul+, but LON/MOW is long haul even though it is < 2000 mi).

The MM approach for BA was pretty simple .. there was a 2000 mile threshold to decide between long & short haul TP earning. However BA started to manipulate that .. with exceptions creeping in .. MM didn't cater for these. I was busy with other things for a while and took my eye off the ball for getting MM updated... it's current state is somewhat behind in terms of what sectors are permissible .. also no recent rule changes have been incorporated.

Bringing it up-to-date would have to be a combination of determining a new source of data (OW operated sectors) and updating per rule changes. Quite how useful it would be to carry out these tasks is unclear to me ... it also depends generally on how attractive xONEx fares are these days.
