Wouldn't the fuel problems impact that though (notwithstanding the "fear " factor ) ?
It's not that there's a lack of crude oil. There's a more than enough being produced. Its that the ME countries can't get it out to a significant portion of their customers and countries. The ME countries themselves won't run out of crude for centuries to come if its just for their own consumption.

Slightly off topic but just to let everyone know we have arrived in JNB with no stress and are reunited with Seat Son and DIL. Off on safari to Pilanesberg today. To Cape Town on the weekend and the wedding will be on 28 March.

On topic - I am pretty worried about them returning to the UAE after the wedding, both the flight back to DXB and their daily life there and in Abu Dhabi given the escalating attacks including the DIFC (where Seat Son worked when he lived in Dubai), DXB and the ABC is reporting that Iran is now issuing evacuation warnings for various areas of the UAE because they think US soldiers are sheltering in these locations.

I’m guessing there are various reasons why some are being diverted to DWC and some aren’t
It appeared that EK407 from MEL circled for about 30 minutes before being diverted whereas EK319 from NRT had been circling for near on 3hrs.

* and now EK319 being diverted to AUH

Would lack of fuel play a part? Listened to this this morning (no idea of the authenticity though, it's FB!!). 570K views · 6.7K reactions | What it sounded like to be airborne over QATAR when the Iran attacks started. | fly8MA.com

I legitimately wonder how many pilots and crew the ME3 are going to lose (quitting) as a result of the operations over the last few weeks.

I can't imagine that many would be happy to fly in and out of active war activity zones.

Especially given the majority of the EK and QR flight attendants crewing flights whose destination is outside the ME are foreigners not from the ME, so would be able to go home to a safer place right now.
