Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

If fuel runs out there will be far far far bigger problems than planes refueling
Yes, not sure how China will get all of our crucial minerals and coal when we can’t dig them up.

We are already seeing air freight stuck in warehouses in Europe and told that delays of 6-8 weeks even at this stage.

Looks like I'll be flying Turkish to Europe. I wonder if QR will offer Status extensions :)

BA sent this out to members:
We wanted to get in touch to let you know that if the tier points from your impacted travel plans would have led to your tier renewing or upgrading, we will honour the tier you would have earned. Don't worry, you don’t need to do anything – your tier for next year will be automatically updated in your British Airways Club account by 1 April 2026.

That’s excellent. If we are impacted next week I trust Qantas will match this deal. Well. I can hope.

BA membership year is standardised and ends on March 31. It would therefore materially affect some members who have no chance to recoup the tier points later., whilst from BA’s perspective probably only affecting a small number of members.

"Operators of the Instagram account @dmarge just posted a screenshot of a business class fare (with one leg in first class) from Sydney to London on Cathay Pacific for almost $40,000."

Actually has anyone thought of flying via Buenos Aires?

AKL-EZE-FRA-LHR from $3300 economy.

No US visa required, no flying through war zone, no worries.
