Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

I see the Kuwaitis have already managed to bring down some US fighters with so called "friendly fire". It must be very stressful for any commercial pilots trying to land in the Gulf region.

It's hard to know accurately the totality but reports vary from 3 to 5 US jets shot down by US made patriot missiles fired by Kuwait.

$100s or mill worth of equipment down the drain on a single day; thankfully no loss of life for the crews.

That's very interesting because today's flight (arriving in LHR shortly) has flown direct with fairly normal flight time - actually will be arriving almost 20 minutes early into LHR at 4:45am!

Maybe they are preparing for the risk the route may be varied if the US executes an even bigger assault in the next 24 hours with more actors participating as reported in the media.

That's very interesting because today's QF9 has flown direct, obviously a more northerly route than normal, but still a fairly normal flight time. It will actually be landing into LHR shortly almost 20 minutes!
I had a feeling that time differences (daylight saving) and seasonal weather (winds) played a part in the assessment about a fuel stop for QF9/10.

The sensationalist reporting is driving me crazy

Behind a paywall but the gist

Mrs Mitchell, from London, came to Adelaide to see family with her granddaughter Pia.

After their 9 day visit in Adelaide, Mrs Mitchell was supposed to fly to Doha at 10pm on Monday night and onto a connecting flight to London

“It’s hard, Pia is running out of food so we are having to find something similar to what she’s eating,” Mrs Mitchell said.

“It’s worrying because you’re not supposed to change what they eat this young.

It doesn't say how old the grandchild is but I'm pretty sure Australia has very similar food to the UK

Seriously ????

I see plenty of traffic coming out of DXB on Flightradar24 right now. One A380 to LHR, closely followed by another one to FRA. Would they really all be empty or repositioning? It’s a bit hard to believe.

Rather looks to me like patience is starting to wear thin and risk appetites are going up. Both in-and out-bound almost exclusively the key centres in Europe plus Moscow and India it seems so far… And only the UAE carriers, no (civilian) movement at all yet in Qatar.

Even an Air India Express plane seemingly taking off from DXB there in the corner so not only „local“ carriers it appears…
