Accomodation in Melbourne for the rest of this week and into next is super pricey due to F1, certainly feel for those poor people who are stuck.

Melbourne also seems to have the most crew stuck with 10 aircraft currently parked. That’s a lot of hotel rooms!

Although if financially a problem and happy to go beyond central Melbourne (even take Vline to Geelong, Ballarat etc), hotels are considerably cheaper than centre of Melbourne, even if you throw in $11/day for transport.
 
I see that Saudi space has been open, why don't UAE and Qatar route immediately to and from Saudi air space, which is more buffered by air defences as its further away?

It would take minutes for all aircraft to fly over there.
