Jetstar have just cancelled some flights from Melbourne to Auckland over Christmas. Various explanations have been given and people have been told that alternative flights are available. So somere lucky enough to book this flight for Christmas eve, have been offered a flight on boxing day.

Is this the real deal?

Somebody set up a fake JQ Facebook site today which caught some people out so I hope it wasn't a nasty rumour coming from this site.

If it is true I can't believe who in their right mind would cancel a flight on Xmas Eve when it would be pretty obvious most of the pax would be wanting to be in NZ on Xmas day not the day after.

Well they did cancel the original flight which sparked all this and offer one 5 days later, so they already have form for such things.
