Have a window section sitting in my cart & am geeing myself up to hit “pay now.”

It’s a splurge.....but a pretty cool splurge!!

In the AFF post talking about this they mentioned Planetags.

I bit the bullet last year and bought a couple for bigal and myself. They were ordered in early November and are nearly as well travelled as the QF plane they were cut off! Since they were dropped off at Torrance USPS on Nov 30 they've been to LA (30/11-11/12), Sydney (16/12-18/12), Chicago (!!! 07/01-16/01), Fort Worth (dep 18/01), Narita (dep 20/01) and fingers crossed Brisbane sometime in the next week.

bigal was up for the drinks trolley last year but a pair of dreamtime seats were a step too far :)

I did too to go with the cart. Arrived about a week ago.

I received my last two planetags in under 2 weeks!

Wait, so your tag arrived in Sydney, then went to Brisbane (or will eventually get there, hopefully, anyway) via the USA and Japan?

I've seen some absolutely crazy parcel tracking info during the last year, but that would have to be a record surely? 😂

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Surely one of you must be a flight simmer, cough after that FO seat. Mind you, it would take some pretty severe cleaning to get the years of sweat out of it.
I'd say for someone interesting in purchasing the seat for such purposes, the sweat is the product and the seat the necessary accessory....

Similar story with same items (PlaneTags). MEL is my closest international gateway.
started in Torrence, LAX (various places), SYD, MEL, “Canada” - place undefined but probably YVR, SFO, LAX, SYD, MEL.
Another package again with PlaneTags went: Torrence, LAX, SYD, Sweden and thats where its been for the last 3 weeks. Hoping it’ll make it back to MEL some day.
Seems OzPost is the weak link. They must have parcel chuckers who don‘t give a rats as long as the package goes somewhere. Perhaps they need a Cartier watch as an incentive.

That's funny as! Agree that it was clearly sent away from Australia to the other side of the world. It was eventually delivered with no drama with a perfectly clear and unmarked postage label. Were both of yours the same? I expected the package to be covered in notes but it had nothing, completely unmarked.

ps. thanks Matt for the story. I chuckle each time I see the tags sitting there :)

Yep, USPS apparently has containers of mail just sitting around, probably exacerbated by T**** appointing one of his buddies, who has family interests in DHL & suchlike, as USPS Boss last year. Conflict of interest !!!
Will not bore you with the minutiae but my shipment started off in Kauai, Hawaii. It took about 10days to reach LAX & then headed West ? to Brussels, with US stops in-between. I contacted the supplier to be sure it was not labelled Austria but was assured not the case. Languished in Brussels for a week or so & then ended up in Maryland US. Seems to be a popular destination for nomadic parcels. Off then to Newark NJ, back across to LAX through various stopovers & eventually turned up in SYD. Just hoped that they did not think BNE was in fact in Florida, but, no it appeared worse for wear & custom inspection, in one piece in my PO Box.
10 weeks in total for $US52, the US Postal Service is definitely USeless.

I have had multiple orders with Planetags. They were taking around 2 months to arrive - with no great dramatic detours. Now it seems to be about two weeks. The most recent order got Sydney in five days and has been sat there for the past eight days waiting to catch a ride to Melbourne. Meanwhile an order from Planetags' low-cost rival Aviationtags is still not with me after more than two months. It is rumoured to be currently touring the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

My PlaneTags order wasn't quite as bad, but it still took the scenic route around the USA!

Torrance, CA > Los Angeles, CA > Memphis, TN > Los Angeles, CA > Lexington, KY > Aurora, IL > Chicago, IL > HKG > SYD

I had the exact same experience with my Planetag. Truly bizarre.

It traveled Torrance-SFO-SYD, sat here for two months without moving, then started moving again...SYD-HNL-LAX-MIA-JFK-NRT-MEL-SYD. Then delivered four months after ordering.
