Hi All,

I have a problem. I was hoping to surprise my Mum for her 50th B'day with a trip to join up with us in Spain around the 9th Feb and leaving the 14/15th Feb.

I thought I was all set with Thai Airways offering flights for $1400 pre taxes, but the unhelpful staff at Flightcentre have informed me that these are all sold out and the next cheapest fare is ~$2500 in taxes.

Have any of you any tips/advice to get around this and obtain a flight around these times and for a price ~ $1500 without too many stopovers.

Or am I asking to much?

Thanks

Chaz

Hi Chaz,

If you are happy with 8th Feb --> 13 Feb The return fare INCLUDING tax with Singapore air Aus $ 1985. You have to book online with Australia Flights - Singapore Airlines

And remember, singapore air is ++++++++++++ better than Thai who don't even have individual entertainment option even for long routes.

Cheers

Edit: Sorry -- I didn't see Madrid. It was Barcelona -- if it's still OK. But she can fly from Barcelona to Madrid very cheap anyway.

Thanks for your response Ravith....actually Barcelona is better. Because thats where we'll be.

Also agree, Singapore Airways is much better than Thai!

Hi Chazmen,

Can I ask why the FC staff were unhelpful, was it because they couldn't find a seat on the W class TG fare, or something else?

I have a stake in an agency (not FC) and Thailand is going mental sales wise at the moment, hence the problems getting seating on TG, especially on the AUS-BKK routes.

I'd definately go SQ, fantastic airline, and a very good price inc taxes.

Thanks for the insight Travel guru.

In answer to your question the FC staff member was reluctant to help find alternate routes and provide a number of quotes.

Thanks for satisfying my curiousity Chazmen, that tends to be a common complaint of FC staff
