Interested if members have some better suggestions than I have been able to find for flights dep Melb 18 MAR 14 in J for routing MEL - SIN (stopover) - AMS, then open jaw FRA - DXB (stopover) -MEL. Am willing to pay for 2 x J class seats and not try to upgrade or try Classic Awards etc. Have around 450,000 QF points but not wanting to risk not flying in J by hoping for an upgrade from Y or PE.
Emirates can do it but not a great fare offer. QF have given a companion fare in I class (had to do this over the phone because website didnt allow DXB stopover on way home. QF fare has mostly EK metal with QF codeshare flight nos so I get points plus status credits. QF fare is a bit over $8K each.
Stops in SIN, AMS, FRA and DXB are all important and not willing to deviate. the QF/EK options seem most direct and reasonably good dep and arr times.
