Melbourne Qantas First Lounge Closed most October 2025

They're finally repairing/replacing the dodgy air conditioning system in the lounge before the busy (and hot) summer season. Anyone who has been in the F Lounge during summer over the last few years would recall the large Dalek-like aircon units dotted around to keep the place cool.
Anyone who was there on a certain day back in February when I was having a very boozy lunch before QF37 may also remember me trying to (rather ineptly) try and avoid crashing into the damned things every time I got up to ask young Julia for another round of coughtails in my chair by the window...

I had a similar experience with a mate in March prior to QF37 too..

What a timing I’ve a day flight out of Melb this 8 Oct which means I have to go down to the dungeon.
Maybe time to revisit The Amex Centurion or Plaza Premium Lounge

Thanks for sharing. Where did they seat you?
It was free seating. I found an empty seat near the window (which looked out to the arrivals concourse).
Table service was offered, Again free seating, people just sat down where there was a seat.

Was there any differentiation for First Lounge Eligible PAX?

Yes, as you enter there is a podium to the left.
BP scanned and welcomed into the temporary F Lounge.
It is an enclosed area. Not available to non F Lounge clients.
Still International Business seating and a much smaller menu (posted up thread).
