At that time of day, if flying and/or lounge eligible via Qantas, they'd be in the Emirates lounge.

Not quite for me. I was expecting the squid and Pavlova. I hardly think the others are "signature" dishes of theirs.

One measly hot dish which is probably the same slop in the buffet. Obviously there is no kitchen there to cook items to order.

TBH, sums up the problems with the lounge for J pax. Despite all the complaints about the "dungeon" aspect I don't mind the physical environment, but I do always sit in the lighter, more open area to the left of the doors as you enter, not where most people gravitate to at the rear of the lounge. The big let down IMHO is the lack of decent hot food and I guess this is because of the lack of decent kitchen facilities.

What a timing I’ve a day flight out of Melb this 8 Oct which means I have to go down to the dungeon.
Maybe time to revisit The Amex Centurion or Plaza Premium Lounge
