Melbourne Airport Lifts Short Term Prices again

Melbourne airport proving again they are kings of price gouging.

Parking prices at Melbourne Airport have been lifted again in another hit to the hip pocket of travellers, and their family and friends.
The airport, which collects almost $345,000 each day from parking charges, quietly increased prices by as much as 67 per cent on Wednesday.
The biggest relative hit is to drivers using short-term parking. The cost of parking for between 15 and 30 minutes at the airport has increased from $6 to $10.

Book online with the LTCP, its pretty good value. I can book tomorrow for a day for only $11, I booked a week for $49 few weeks back. Use it all the time now.

The real ripoff is Avalon. $40 a day. 3 Weeks at Tulla $99, Avalon $170.

No doubt this change was introduced at the request of the same bunch of passengers wanting the removal of ATA, mASAs, and the introduction of simpler and farier and cafe breakfasts.

Just too many common folk able to afford short-term parking at $6 :shock:

I was wondering what happened to parking rates at MEL airport lately. Used to park at Long Term every week for around $50 and lately it's up to $70 so I switched to one of the off-airport companies. Makes the ride 5 minutes longer but the rate is $25 cheaper.
